NEW DELHI – India has stated that its recent military operation, Operation Sindoor, did not target civilian, economic, or military facilities in Pakistan. Instead, the strikes were aimed solely at terrorist camps, according to a statement issued by the Indian embassy in the United States.

The embassy emphasized that India’s actions were focused, precise, and non-escalatory in nature.
“India’s actions have been measured, responsible, and designed to be non-escalatory,” the diplomatic mission said.
“No Pakistani civilian, economic, or military targets have been hit. Only known terror camps were targeted,” the statement added.

Background of the Strikes
India’s Defense Ministry confirmed that the country’s armed forces launched Operation Sindoor, striking nine targets in Pakistan and areas under its control in Jammu and Kashmir. The operation was reportedly aimed at terrorist infrastructure, following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in the deaths of 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen.
