A recent analysis by AFP, based on data from the European monitor Copernicus, reveals that June was the hottest month ever recorded in 12 countries, including Pakistan, Spain, Japan, and Nigeria. This extreme heatwave affected approximately 790 million people across Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Impact and Consequences

The UN World Meteorological Organization (WMO) warned that extreme weather and climate change impacts are exacerbating hunger, insecurity, and displacement in vulnerable regions of Africa.
